Does your mind go 100 miles per hour while trying to sleep? Time slips away. Mindfulness time. It’s time to slow down and just be present.
Nowadays, we’re bombarded with TV shows, social media, and digital distractions, so it’s easy to forget the importance of having a few moments of peace.
What is Mindfulness and Stillness?
Mindfulness means becoming aware of what you’re thinking and feeling in the present moment.
Stillness is being quiet, and patient, and allowing yourself to be in the moment without judgment or expectation.
You combine these and get an amazing state of mind that you’ll appreciate.
It’s about being in the moment and centering yourself.
Be fully present, aware, alert, and mindful of your surroundings, and not just go through the motions on autopilot, and you’ll be able to truly connect with the people, places, and things around you in a much deeper way.
Having a still mind allows for clarity, which leads to strong decisions. I notice I am more productive when I can be mindful and still.
Is it selfish to devote time to mindfulness?
No, it’s an essential practice that can benefit your life. It helps you to slow down, make more informed decisions, and become more present with your loved ones and the world around you.
Getting caught up in our everyday lives and feeling overwhelmed is easy. Mindfulness and stillness can help us step back, observe our thoughts and feelings, and gain clarity.
It’s important to take some time each day to practice mindfulness and stillness so that you can stay grounded in the present moment. It can be as simple as taking a few minutes of your day to pray, meditate, practice yoga, or sit and be still. I personally like to sit outside on the front porch or mill around the house doing TO-DO things.
When I sit on the porch, I feel I am free of the world for a while. My wife refers to it as ‘watching the grass grow’. I feel I’m passing the time, relaxing, and getting away. A place away from home while being at home.
It doesn’t matter what you do, but what’s important is to remember to savor every moment and focus on just enjoying and appreciating it.
Through mindfulness and stillness, I can take time for myself. My mental health has improved, and I have become more patient with people around me. I have learned to be more compassionate towards myself and others and be grateful for what I have in life.
Once you make it a part of your daily routine, you can use these practices to stay focused on the moment and with yourself. It will become easier to notice when your mind starts wandering. Bringing it back to the present moment can help you stay present and take on each day with a more relaxed and mindful attitude.
Mindfulness and stillness mark an important step in our journey to become the best version of ourselves. It’s about taking the time to appreciate life and learning how to live it fully without reliving the past or carrying unnecessary baggage.
Mindfulness and stillness are powerful tools that help us stay grounded and aware of the world. When we practice it, we offer ourselves a greater understanding of our minds, our emotions, and the people in our lives.
Enriching your life through mindfulness and stillness is worth taking the time. You will feel calmer, more focused, and in tune with your inner self. It’s a practice that will help you grow and develop.
Time observes the world from afar while we haste, waste, and squander it. Time won’t wait, but it will give us time to appreciate the beauty around us. If we take a break occasionally, take a breath, and breathe, we’ll see that life is beautiful and we can’t afford to waste it.
Mindfulness and stillness are about taking a break to slow down and being conscious of our actions and how they affect our world. It’s important to take some time each day to practice mindfulness and stillness so that you can stay in the present.
